While creating a personal website, I was considering what type of banner image would best represent myself. While the standard portfolio website tends to showcase a photo of the individual, I found that I wanted to do something a little different. I decided to create a self-portrait using Adobe Illustrator. At first, I was intrigued by the idea of using a red/blue 3D effect, as I personally enjoy the aesthetic. However, as I worked, I realized that a much more colorful and bold style suited me (and my personal creative style) much better. I tend to favor bright color palettes juxtaposed against striking black and white shapes and lines. I also stylized myself to be a cross between Pop Art and Classical portrait busts, two areas of art that I particularly enjoy. On paper, the combination may seem strange, but I am, overall, very satisfied with the final product in regards to it representing myself.
The first image in this project is my "finished" product, though I may create other versions in the future. The other two were early drafts of the final version.
