"Katy by Violet Sunset" is a digital mural created for the Walmart in Katy, Texas. It was created in Adobe Photoshop in September and October 2024 and was printed on adhesive vinyl and installed at the Katy, TX Walmart. The mural was commissioned by Walmart through NOW Art, a public art agency.
Katy is a vibrant, thriving city continuously built up by its wonderful community. The Katy Rice Festival is depicted to illustrate the community coming together and Katy’s rich agricultural history. A majestic purple maverick, as well as a part of the school itself, represent the local Morton Ranch High School and students, and Katy’s beautiful and iconic water tower stands tall and proud, its flying birds as free and ambitious as the people living below them.
