Dialogue and Continuity Editing Showcase

This video was created to practice and showcase continuity in dialogue and action skills. I was provided with a series of folders containing shots of video as well as a script with a general outline of the story's plot and progression and told to create a finished cut that was consistent, comprehensible, and believeable as the intended version of the short film. I went shot by shot, watched the footage, chose my favorite compositions and takes, and compiled my favorites together. I made some creative changes to the order of shots (with permission) in order to increase drama, comedic elements, and timing. I edited and improved the quality and volume of sound, as well as replaced sound that was impossible to include. I then color graded and corrected before exporting the final piece.
